John Abraham, who is gearing up for the release of his next film Parmanu, in which he plays an Indian Army officer, will be next seen playing DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the senior policeman who led the 2008 Batla House encounter case, in director Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming film Batla House.
Written by Ritesh Shah, Batla House will go on floors in September and will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and Nepal. Interestingly, Nikkhil had last directed John in Salaam-E-Ishq way back in 2007. The Batla House encounter, officially known as Operation Batla House, took place on September 19, 2008, against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi, in which two suspected terrorists were killed while two other suspects were arrested. Encounter specialist and Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who led the police action, was also martyred during the operation.
John will be seen sharing screen space with Diana Penty and Boman Irani in Parmanu.
