Inder and Sunny Bawra, who have previously worked on the soundtracks of films like Hate Story 2, Hate Story 3 and Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming Punjabi film Ambarsariya, have composed the music of John Abraham’s upcoming film Rocky Handsome.
When asked how they landed the project, Sunny revealed, "John wanted some new tracks for his song bank. He loved our tunes so much that he set up a meeting with director Nishikant Kamat, who asked us for an emotionally haunting song. We sang Rehnuma for him the very next day and bagged the Rocky Handsome album. We are really grateful to Sheel Kumar from John's production house and producer Sunir Kheterpal for the opportunity."
A major portion of the film had already been shot when the composer brothers came on board and they were instructed that the music had to be in sync with the film’s scenes. John also needed a track that was symbolic of the relationship between his character and the little girl, who gets abducted in the movie.
Finally they came up with a fusion track and they roped in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for it as they believed that only his soulful voice could do justice to the emotional number. ''We agreed that only Rahat Fateh Ali Khan saab could do justice to it and got in touch with him in Pakistan. He told us that he was to visit Delhi but wouldn't be flying to Mumbai anytime soon," Inder informs. Following an impromptu meeting in the national capital, the singer agreed to record the song and in two days, a nine-minute track was cut.
Producer-actor John Abraham too is all praise for the composers and raving about them he said, ''Sunny and Inder are fantastic music directors. I would like to congratulate them for composing such an amazing album for Rocky Handsome. It’s a very special album and they have done a fantastic job. I wish them success and I’m sure post the release of this film they will earn name, fame and money.''
Rocky Handsome also stars Nathalia Kaur and Shruti Haasan and is slated to release on March 25.
