James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Is Confirmed To Release In China —

James Cameron's much-awaited sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, is undoubtedly the biggest Hollywood flick of the year. Avatar 2 has just become even bigger as the makers (20th Century and Disney) have confirmed the China release on the same day, i.e., December 16, 2022.Avatar (2009) was a big hit in China, with collections of $261.8 million gross, including re-releases. But one must understand that this market has seen a huge expansion in the last decade, and hence Avatar 2 is expected to do well here. Cameron's comment of a $2 billion break-even looks certain now unless restrictions cause a heavy loss in China.The Avatar sequel is produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau, Lightstorm Entertainment Production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet.
