Jacqueline Fernandez Plea Rejected In Sukesh Chandrasekhar Case:

The Delhi High Court on Thursday rejected Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s petition in the ₹200 crore money laundering case. The Housefull 5 actress had asked the court to drop her name from the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), but her request was dismissed by Justice Anish Dayal. The full judgment will be uploaded by the court soon.

As you know, the case is linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is accused of cheating and laundering huge sums of money. Jacqueline is being probed for allegedly accepting expensive gifts from Sukesh, who is currently in jail.

Jacqueline’s legal team, led by Senior Advocate Sidharth Aggarwal, argued that the ED’s case is unfair. Aggarwal pointed out that the agency had claimed Sukesh gave money to around 15 people. If that logic is followed, he said, even vendors, lawyers, or court staff could be booked under the same law.

He added that just being involved in a transaction with someone accused of a crime doesn’t automatically mean money laundering. He also emphasized that Jacqueline, being a celebrity, is being targeted unfairly. She was introduced to Sukesh as a businessman, and it wasn’t clear at the time that he had a criminal background.

Jacqueline’s team also stated that she isn't asking the court to scrap the entire case—only to remove her name from the list of accused. The ED has filed multiple complaints, but the investigation is still ongoing and the trial hasn’t started.

The ED was represented by Special Counsel Zoheb Hossain, who opposed Jacqueline’s plea. The court, after hearing both sides, decided to dismiss her petition.
