The 1991 psychological thriller 100 Days, starring Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit, is set to make a comeback in a brand-new avatar. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Holds Steady Amid Diwali Rush –
The original 100 Days was a pathbreaking thriller of its time, blending mystery, supernatural elements, and psychological drama. It was an official adaptation of the 1977 Italian film Sette Note in Nero and was praised for its gripping storytelling, haunting background score, and powerful performances by the lead pair.
The upcoming remake will feature actors Abhishek Kumar and Srishti Singh in the lead roles, marking their first major collaboration. According to Jay Mehta, the idea behind the remake is to bring the iconic story to a younger audience while maintaining the soul of the original. The new format as a micro-drama will allow the story to unfold in short, intense episodes suited for today’s fast-paced digital audience.
The project is currently in the scripting stage, and the team plans to begin production soon. Amid the latest trend of remakes and sequels, another 90s flick has come forward to step in and join the current trend regardless no demand. The OTT age may see a few more projects like this using the goodwill of iconic films, but will there be able to set a landmak like the originals? We guess No.
