The team launched the trailer at a grand event today. We caught Sonali in media interaction to get some exciting details. She started off by stating the difference between films and web series - "No. Actually, it's a lovely format to explore various layers, which sometimes you miss 2 hours of film. So, I think each one is good in its own place. I knew what I was getting into and was happy to be part of the OTT space."

"It felt like I was shooting for a long movie; that's it. Otherwise, the shooting process was the same. I wanted to work with young actors, and in The Broken News I worked with Shriya and Jaideep. I got to learn so much from them because new things are happening," she further added.publive-image

Sharing her take on journalists, she said, "I think for me, I understood the script. Journalists are a mirror to society, and they are human beings. The profession of the media and journalists is like a service. It is about business too, but it is not all about just the profit. It is one such profession where you have to think about society and not just money. That's why journalists or media people are given respect because they stand for something. I felt that responsibility."publive-image

Sonali also spoke about her experience of working with young actors like Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat. She told us, "I have to tell you I was afraid because I was coming after so many days, so it was a big challenge for me. Remembering my lines was a challenge. So I had to adapt a new pattern to remember my dialogues, and that's why I was so scared when I came on set. Shriya and Jaideep came like pros on set, and I was like, they will think how stupid I am, so I think rather than me hugging them, it was they who took me under their wings."publive-image

"I couldn't have asked for a better introduction on OTT platforms than with 'The Broken News' on ZEE5. I connected with the concept as soon as I heard it, as it's so relevant to the times we're living in. The entire crew and my amazing co-stars Jaideep and Shriya made my return to acting such an amazing experience. I’m so excited to share what we've created," she concluded.
