One of the funniest anchors of our time, Maniesh Paul, is set to surprise his fans. The actor will be seen sharing the screen with Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in Raj Mehta's Jugjugg Jeeyo. The film will hit the screens on June 24th, but before that, here's what Maniesh has to say about his role and the film.
Opening up about his character in Jugjugg Jeeyo, Maniesh revealed, "My character in the film is named Gurpreet. The story and characters in the film are written amazingly. Be it a funny line or an emotional scene, I think people will connect to it. When I read the lines, I said to myself, "This is going to be awesome."
"Most of my scenes are with Varun, and the timing has been good. Our bromance is beautiful in the film. I have a habit of adding something extra of my own during the shoot, and our director, Raj Mehta, gave me that freedom. That freedom has helped me and my character in the film," he was delighted to add.
He explained how his co-stars helped him during the shoot, saying, "I have a good rapport with Anil sir because I have hosted many shows with him. But as a co-actor, he has helped me a lot. He guided me in the right way. Whenever I had any issues in any scene, he used to come to me and say, 'Dhyan rakh. Badi film hai' (laughs)."
About Varun Dhawan, he adds, "Varun has been a great co-actor. I never saw him being insecure that I would have more punches. Every actor in the film has worked for the totality of the film. There was no insecurity or ego."
Sharing his reasons for choosing this film, Maniesh shared, "I said yes to the film because of Karan Johar. I respect him a lot, and Raj Mehta also said that I should do it. I got Raj's call, and then Karan called and asked about it. He said, 'You should do it,' and I said yes to him. I was even ready for auditions because I'm not from that club that says I'm not going to audition."
