Umesh Kulkarni's directorial debut Marathi film Valu is all set to be screened at the 64th Locarno International Film Festival. The film will be screened in the Open Doors Screenings, a section presenting an overview of key films from the chosen region and aimed at creating bridges with the general audience of the Festival. The critically acclaimed film, which was owned and released by Mukta Arts was the first regional film to be handled by Mukta and stars actors Atul Kulkarni and veteran actor Mohan Agashe.
The film, which was released in 2008 was also featured in the berlin Film Festival and became the first Marathi feature film to get selected in Rotterdam International Film Festival 2008, Holland.
