Indie Short Film Out:
Indie, an emotionally stirring short film featuring Pooja Bhatt, raises awareness about the plight of India’s street dogs and advocates for their adoption and protection.
In just two and a half minutes, it contrasts the privileged lives of pedigree pets with the ignored existence of Indie (Indian street) dogs — animals that survive without shelter, food, or care. The heartfelt narration comes from a street dog's perspective who is seeking home, food, company and love. Why can't they get the same love and compassion like the pedigree pets when they are no different from them? Indie raises a significant question on the human nature as well while speaking about their mindset of looking at dogs. Watch the video below:
The film takes an emotional turn towards the end when Pooja as herself pleads: "Please don't shop. Adopt an Indie instead, or help an NGO who feeds them. They deserve a place in your hearts and your homes. They have great immunity and are low maintenance. They are desi dogs, after all."

With stirring visuals and an urgent message, Indie urges viewers to act — adopt, feed, or support local NGOs working for Animal welfare. It's a heartfelt reminder that love doesn’t need a price tag — it needs empathy.

Indie, directed by Nabeel Abbas and produced by Epilogue for Epigram Advertising in association with the Rotary Club of India (Animal Welfare Committee), is more than a short film — it's a powerful call for compassion. The film, co-starring darling Tofu and many canine friends, is written by Anushree Kandalkar, shot by Aijaz Sayed, edited by Taniya Thanadar, and the music is composed by Shivang Upadhyay.
