The members of All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) will now step out and gather outside singer Mika Singh’s Mumbai residence to protest against the singer for performing in Pakistan, when the tensions between both the countries is at the peak. AICWA has initially imposed a ban on the singer for the same.
In an official statement issued by AICWA, it states, "We have already banned Pakistani artists just because of Pakistani terror activities, we strictly contempt on it and we have lost our brave soldiers just because of terror activity. So finally, AICWA has decided to protest against him outside his house with peaceful manner."
The protest will take place outside Mika’s Mumbai residence at Oshiwara, on 19th August from 2pm. AICWA has mentioned in the press release, that they will be holding a peaceful protest outside the singer’s house, owing to his controversial performance in Pakistan.
Mika Singh with his 14 members troupe went to perform at the pre wedding ceremony of a relative close to former Pakistan President, Gen Pervez Musharraf, on August 8. His presence in the city came to light when some guests uploaded videos of his performance on social media. Post which he was highly criticised in India for performing in Pakistan, when the tensions between both the countries is at the peak, by putting money above the nation’s pride. Reportedly he has charged USD 150,000 for his performance.
Mika recently wrote an apology letter to Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the mother body of all the 24 crafts of filmmaking. He also shared a video of (FWICE) president, in which he was seen talking about accepting an apology from the singer. FWICE has reportedly scheduled a meeting with Mika Singh on Tuesday, to hear him out before taking any formal action, as per the singer’s request.
