Housefull 5 third weekend box office:

Housefull 5, the latest installment in the popular comedy franchise, is struggling to maintain its box office momentum as it enters its third week. After a decent start, the film has seen significant drops in collections in the second week and now third week, especially with the release and strong performance of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, which has diverted audience attention.

The film opened to a decent first week, collecting ₹113 crore nett. However, its second week saw a sharp decline, earning only ₹37 crore nett, indicating a clear dip in audience interest. The situation worsened further in the third weekend, where the film managed just ₹6.25 crore nett over three days — with ₹1.25 crore on Friday, ₹2.25 crore on Saturday, and ₹2.75 crore on Sunday.

With the total now standing at approximately ₹156.25 crore nett, the film is expected to wrap up its theatrical run in the ₹165–170 crore nett range. While these numbers are respectable, they fall short of expectations for a big-budget franchise film.

Given the downward trend and lack of enough traction in the third weekend, Housefull 5 is sure to miss the HIT status. At best, the film may end up as an average or below-average performer at the box office, despite its promising start and star-studded cast. What went wrong with the film?
