Housefull 5 Shows a Decent Hold on Monday; Akshay Kumar's Second Best After Sooryavanshi, WW 145 crore +

Housefull 5 Monday collections:

Housefull 5 ended its opening weekend on a decent note, collecting ₹79 crore nett across three days. While the numbers are respectable, industry expectations were significantly higher given the franchise value and the ensemble cast. The film’s real test began on Monday, and early trends indicate a fairly decent hold, if not strong.

The Akshay Kumar-led comedy opened with ₹22 crore nett on Friday. The collections saw a noticeable jump on Saturday, adding ₹28.25 crore, and held firm on Sunday with ₹29 crore nett. With a weekend total of ₹79 crore nett, the film did manage to gain momentum but slightly underwhelmed considering the franchise hype. 

Housefull 5 box office:

On Monday, Housefull 5 registered a decent hold with collections in the range of ₹11–11.50 crore nett, which makes it Akshay's second biggest Monday after Sooryavanshi (14 crore) in the post pandemic times. This brings the four-day total close to ₹90 crore nett, and the film is now eyeing the ₹100 crore milestone by Tuesday. If it maintains this pace, the first-week total could touch or cross ₹115 crore nett. However, whether the film becomes a box office “hit” will depend on its performance in the second week. 

Speaking of worldwide numbers, the film is close to ₹150 crore, with a domestic gross of ₹108 crore and an overseas gross of around ₹41 crore. The first week total will be aiming for ₹185-190 crore worldwide gross from here.
