Housefull 5, the fifth film in the Housefull franchise, is showing clear signs of audience fatigue, with footfalls dropping significantly compared to previous installments. While the earlier films in the series had decent to good footfalls, Housefull 5 is struggling to match up, and the decline is bigger than expected.

Housefull – 1.18 crore footfalls

Housefull 2 – 1.57 crore

Housefull 3 – 1.16 crore

Housefull 4 – 1.58 crore (highest)

Housefull 5 – 90-95 lakh footfalls (expected)

This marks a nearly 60% drop from Housefull 4, which is a major fall for a franchise that has consistently delivered at the box office over the years. Despite the star power and brand recall, the fifth film is heading toward an “Average” verdict, with lifetime collections expected to land in the range of ₹165-170 crore.

This performance makes Housefull 5 the only film in the franchise to potentially miss out on “Hit” status. With such a sharp decline, it has now raised questions about the future of the series. Will there still be a Housefull 6? The makers should be more cautious in the future.

The drop suggests that audiences may not be as invested in this franchise anymore. If the makers decide to go ahead with another installment, a fresh approach—both in terms of writing and execution—might be the only way to revive interest. Also, budget concerns are increasing with today's films. Housefull 5 had a huge budget, and that's one of the biggest reasons why the film couldn't emerge as a hit. The next films, if made, should have a moderate budget and focus on good content.
