In Play It Again, Sam she showed her early charm; The Godfather (1972) gave her a powerful dramatic presence; Sleeper and Love and Death let her humor shine in Woody Allen’s world; Annie Hall and Manhattan capture the magic of her partnership with Allen; Reds shows her strength in serious storytelling; and Manhattan Murder Mystery brings her back to that playful wit late in her career. These films attest to her range and the special place she held in the hearts of fans like me.
