Akshay Kumar who has played diverse roles in his career is now all set to surprise us with his different avatar in Rustom. The actor will be seen playing the role of Navy officer Rustom Pavri, who is Parsi. The film is set in the 50s and the actor was required to shoot his wedding scene with actress Ileana D’Cruz who plays Akshay’s wife in the film. For this Akshay wanted to dress right and get the feel of the era.

Apparently, Akki did a lot of reaserch into understanding the Parsi customs, dressing and their way of life. After all the effort, Akshay and Ileana’s wedding scene in the film was shot in authentic Parsi way. Akshay sports a clean-shaven look and is dressed like a typical Parsi gentleman while Ileana looks lovely dressed as a typical Parsi bride. In fact, it is hard to differentiate between Akshay’s image and that of an authentic Parsi wedding. Must say, all the hard work and effort seems to have paid off.

Rustom marks the return of the jodi of Akshay with director Neeraj Pandey, who is producing the film after the much-acclaimed Baby in 2015. Directed by debutant Tinu Suresh Desai,Rustom will clash in theatres with the Hrithik Roshan, Pooja Hegde-starrer Mohenjo Daro come August 12th.
