The makers of Sanju unveiled a poster featuring Anushka Sharma, on Tuesday and soon people started speculating as to whom is she playing in the film and now, we have the answer.

At the trailer launch of the movie, when asked what character is Anushka playing in the movie, director Rajkumar Hirani said, “I had tweeted yesterday that I will tell you at the trailer launch about Anushka’s character but don’t laugh (when I tell you that). When you make a biopic you have to compress someone’s life so, you have to join some characters together. So it’s all true but you have to fit everything in a limited time space. So the character that Anushka is playing is a mix of Abhijat Joshi and me. Anushka is actually playing a biographer, who resides in London and has come to India and Sanju wants her to write a book on her but she doesn’t want to.”

“Even when we were listening to his story, we were also in two minds, if we should do it or not. We also wanted to know more, so sometimes we were sitting with the cops, sometime with his family and other times with lawyers. So she is playing us but she is not playing a filmmaker but a biographer," revealed the ace filmmaker.

Ranbir Kapoor is playing Sanjay Dutt in the biopic.
