Sonu Sood, who is winning hearts with his philanthropic work, has landed in legal soup. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has filed a police complaint against the actor for allegedly converting the six-storey Shakti Sagar residential building in Juhu into a hotel without the necessary sanctions.
Reportedly, the BMC has asked the Juhu police to take cognisance of the offence under the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning (MRTP) Act. They have accused the actor of carrying out ‘unauthorised addition/alterations beyond the approved plan and unauthorised change of user from residential to residential hotel building without taking technical sanction.’
Sonu however, has denied the allegations and has claimed that he has all the necessary permissions and that there are no irregularities. He said that he is now awaiting clearance from Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA). He would be appealing against the BMC’s complaint in the Bombay HC.
