Hate Story 3 continued to make moolah in its second weekend as well. This was pretty much on the cards as the fall during the weekdays wasn’t massive and the film was working well with the target audience. As a result, the film continued to find good screens for itself in the second week too. Since there was no new release during the week, the mass audience had only one choice available and this is where the Vishal Pandya directed film came in handy. As a result, the film reached the 49.45 crore mark and that is a good score for this mid-budget film that has managed this feat in 10 days flat.
For everyone involved with the film, it has been a wonderful outing indeed. Sharman Joshi has managed a success to his name after four consecutive flops (3 Bachelors, War Chhod Na Yaar, Gang of Ghosts, Super Nani). Karan Singh Grover didn’t really have a rousing start with Alone. Zarine Khan was in a lookout for a bona fide success three years since ensemble 100 crore affair Housefull 2. As for Daisy Shah, she managed a good role after Salman Khan centric Jai Ho.
As for its standing in the industry, the T-Series film has now reached Ragini MMS-2 [50 crore] and left Jism 2 [35.19 crore] far behind. Both Sunny Leone starrers belonged to the erotic genre as well.
Amongst 2015 releases, Hate Story 3 is now set to go past the lifetime collections of Badlapur [53 crore] and Phantom [53 crore] though Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 [64 crore] is out of reach. Still, this is a big hit for Bollywood in the least suspected zone.
