Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi’s Haq is struggling at the box office, and the trend after its second weekend makes the situation clear. The film has collected around 16 crore nett so far and has shown little improvement despite marketing efforts and positive feedback from a section of fans. The numbers continue to stay low across major centres, and its weekday collections have dropped sharply. The second weekend didn't bring any hope for the film.

What makes the outcome even more disappointing is that Haq is performing worse than The Taj Story, a much smaller film with a relatively modest cast and a limited budget. The Taj Story has managed to collect approximately 18.5 crore nett already and is on track to finish around the 20 crore nett mark. In comparison, Haq, despite having bigger names and a wider release, is trailing behind and is unlikely to catch up.

With the current trend, trade experts believe that Haq will end its theatrical run below 20 crore nett, or at best touch that mark if the film shows unexpected stability. However, that looks difficult given the consistent dip in collections. The film has therefore been labelled a Flop, marking one of the weaker box office results for both its lead actors in recent years.

The bigger concern for the makers is that Haq could not even surpass the earnings of The Taj Story, despite having more promotion and a larger release strategy. As it continues its run, the film’s box office fate appears sealed, with little hope for recovery in the coming days.
