HappyBirthday Hrithik Roshan; TOP 5 Biggest Hits:
Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is celebrating his 51st birthday today. The hashtag #HappyBirthdayHrithikRoshan is trending all over social media as fans and celebrities share their well-wishes. We, at Movie Talkies, wish him a very happy birthday and a great year ahead. Here's looking at the top 5 BIGGEST HITS of his career on this occasion.
5. War (2019):
The first Bollywood film to cross the Rs. 50 crore nett mark. Hrithik Roshan joined YRF's spy universe as Agent Kabir, and his stylish entry shattered the opening day record. Also starring Tiger Shroff, who calls Hrithik his teacher/Guru, the film was a blockbuster at the box office and garnered approximately 2.03 crore footfalls. It was the 5th Hrithik film to cross 2 crore footfalls and his first and only film to cross the Rs. 200 crore nett mark. A sequel to this will be released this year on Independence Day, and it goes without saying that War 2 will shatter opening records yet again.
4. Dhoom 2 (2006)
In my opinion, the most stylish and best film in the Dhoom franchise. Hrithik Roshan made Mr. A famous and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. His style, swag, acting, and dance from this heist thriller are still remembered. Dhoom 2 also shattered opening records and went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year. With earnings of Rs. 81 crore in India, the film brought in 2.15 crore footfalls to cinema halls.
3. Krrish 3 (2013):
The only franchise Hrithik owns in Bollywood is Krrish. As fans eagerly await Krrish 4, I'd like to remind them of Krrish 3's blockbuster run during Diwali 2013. With 2.18 crore footfalls to its name, K3 was a blockbuster hit in India and earned Rs. 178 crore nett in Hindi. It was the third consecutive hit film in the franchise—the first one to do so in Bollywood (Dhoom 3 repeated the same in the same year on Christmas).
2. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000):
A dream debut for Hrithik Roshan and any Bollywood star in this millennium. The film was a perfect launch vehicle for Roshan, showcasing him as a handsome star, a good actor, and a great dancer. He became a sensation overnight, and Bollywood got its next superstar. This romantic action drama earned Rs. 44 crore nett in India and sold approximately 3.06 crore tickets. It was a blockbuster and remains his biggest solo hit to date.
1. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001):
Karan Johar's grand family drama, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, is one of the biggest hits ever in the family genre, and rightly so. Though it wasn't a solo Hrithik movie like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, he played an equal role alongside stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The film collected Rs. 55 crore nett in India and Rs. 135 crore gross worldwide by selling 3.11 crore tickets. That’s the highest number of tickets sold by any Hrithik film, making it his biggest hit to date.
