Netizens are reacting to the incident with a heavy heart as the iconic song and the temple have been part of nostalgia. Some people, who had visited the temple back in the 1970s and 1980s after the song became popular, called it their childhood memories.

Many Bollywood movies and songs have been shot at Gulmarg Temple, but Jai Jai Shivshankar was the most iconic one. Seeing it gutted in the blaze has certainly left many people heartbroken.

The fire took place on Wednesday evening, and the cause is said to be a short circuit. The temple was built in 1915 by Mohini Bai Sisodia and has become a regular tourist attraction. Sadly, all that glitter is lost now.
