Gufi Paintal, aka Shakuni Mama From Mahabharat Passes Away at 78 —

Veteran actor Gufi Paintal, who was famous for portraying Shakuni Mama in BR Chopra's Mahabharat, passed away on Monday, May June 5, 2023. He was 78 and had been suffering from age-related health issues for a while. May God rest his soul in peace.

Gufi Paintal had been hospitalised a day before when he started feeling uneasy. His family statement reads, "With profound grief, we announce the sad demise of our father, Mr. Gufi Paintal. He passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by family." The funeral will take place this evening in Andheri West.

Gufi Paintal has been active in the cinema and TV industries for over six decades. He worked in films like Rafoo Chakkar, Dillagi, Des Pardes, Maidan-E-Jung, Daava, and Samrat & Co. His television works include Mahabharat, Bahadur Shah Zafar, Kanoon, Om Nama Shivay, Sshhh Koi Hai, CID, Karn Sangini, Radha Krishn, and others.
