Actress Tanushree Dutta sparked off a controversy when she openly accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ a decade ago while shooting for a song choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and the choreographer issued a statement in this regard.
Speaking on the issue, Ganesh said that as the incident is old, he doesn’t remember the exact details but recalls that the shooting was stalled for a few hours due to a ‘misunderstanding’. Acharya rubbished Dutta’s allegations that Nana misbehaved with her and said that whatever Tanushree alleges, never happened.
In an interview to a TV channel, Tanushree said, “I want to take names - actor Nana Patekar, producer Sami Siddiqui, director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya. When Nana Patekar misbehaved with me, he voiced out that he would do an intimate step with me as well in the song, which wasn't mentioned in my contract. It was supposed to be a solo sequence of mine.”
She added, “The entire industry saw what happened but there was not one word of condemnation from anybody. Every single person in this country remembers my incident and this was something on national TV for three days but even today there’s a stoic silence on that. So, my question is, ‘Who is going to believe these hypocrites?’ These are the people who stand up and raise their voice against women empowerment.”
