Pop sensation Lady GaGa wants to play the role of her idol 'Amy Winehouse' on big screen. Grammy winner, Winehouse was found dead in her house on July 23, 2011 when she succumbed to her drug addiction.
GaGa wants to kickstart her career as an actress and believes that playing her idol would be the best way to make a transition from music to movies. "Lady GaGa worshiped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on big screen," The Daily Star quoted a Hollywood insider.
If the grapevine is to be believed the 'poker face singer' has been flooded with movie offers but she wants to launch her career by playing Amy in a Hollywood bio pic.
Our take: LG would be the best choice to play Winehouse, their similar quirky and eccentric nature, being common factors. Guess after singers like Jennifer Lopez, Chritina Aguilera and Beyonce turning into actresses, now its Lady Gaga's turn to hit the marquee.
