FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) has declared a compulsory holiday in the entertainment industry on January 22, 2024, for the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Soon after the Maharastra government declared a public holiday on January 22, FWICE's announcement of the holiday came in.
The press release by FWICE states, "In view of the inauguration ceremony of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the oldest and largest federation of 32 different crafts of the media and entertainment industry, has declared a compulsory holiday on 22nd of January 2024 in the film industry."
"FWICE has appealed to all the producer bodies and the production houses not to schedule any shooting, recording, post-production, etc. concerning films, serials, web series, videos, albums, advertisements, etc. on 22. 01. 2024 FWICE suggested and advised that the concerned producer should also prepone or postpone production activity already scheduled on 22. 01. 2024 on some other dates."
