While actors often get to essay roles in which they learn new languages, in Finding Fanny Deepika Padukone got to speak her mother tongue Konkani. The film was shot in Goa where Konkani is the main language so while on sets Deepika got a chance to speak and over heard a lot of Konkani from the local crew.

The Cocktail actress is well versed with language but while shooting Finding Fanny she got back into the rhythm of speaking the language much more fluently. Infact even in the movie, Angie's diction and manner of speaking was deeply Konkani and it made it easy for Deepika to catch up with it.

Dippy will now need to brush up her Marathi speaking skills, for her portrayal of Mastani in Bajirao Mastani.
