Debutant director Nitin Kakkar‘s Filmistaan has wowed one and all. With the State of Maharashtra making the film tax free, more people are expected to watch it in the coming days. This has put the makers of Filmistaan, under pressure to make a sequel to the film.
However Sharib Hashmi the film’s leading actor and writer has denied any such claims. He says that Indo- Pak relations is a very sensitive issue and he does not believe in cashing on emotions of people belonging to both the countries just because the movie was successful.
Sharib also adds that Nitin and he will not make Filmistaan’s sequel unless they have a found a script that takes forward the characters played by Sharib and Pakistani actor Inaamulhaq. The movie had an open ending, and that left the audiences wondering if it would be continued in another film. Currently Sharib and Nitin are concentrating on making Filmistaan tax-free in other States.
