'Filmistaan' Becomes Tax Free In Maharashtra

Filmistaan, whose story helps bridge the tension between India and Pakistan has been made tax-free in the state of Maharashtra. This will bring down the ticket rates by 25 to 30 percent.

Directed by debutante Nitin Kakkar, who's also penned it, the movie released on 6th June to packed cinema houses. Starring Sharib Hashmi and Inaamulhaq, the duo play the roles of an Indian and a Pakistani in the film respectively. The movie was lauded by audiences and critics alike.

Presented by Shringar Film Pvt. Ltd. and UTV Spotboy, the movie was talked about even before its release. It had won the best feature film in Hindi at the 60th National Film Awards 2012, the Silver Crow Pheasant Award for best debut film at the International Film Festival of Kerala and a special jury mention at the 2012 Busan International Film Festival.
