After Facing Several Dilemmas, Here’s Why Aamir Khan Decided To Star In #MeToo Accused Subhash Kapoor’s Mogul

Akshay Kumar was supposed to play the lead role in Bhushan Kumar and Aamir Khan’s co-production Mogul however, things didn’t work out and Akki walked out of the project. After his exit, Aamir Khan decided to slip into Gulshan Kumar’s shoes in his biopic however, he also distanced himself from the project after its director Subhash Kapoor’s name got embroiled in the #MeToo controversy. Consecutively, Subhas was also dropped from the film.
However, Aamir is now back on the project and Subhash is directing it. When asked what made him change his decision, the actor said that he found out that Subhash was being dropped from other projects too and this started bothering him as he felt that his ‘action had inadvertently cost a person — who is yet to be tried in a court of law — to lose his livelihood.’ He felt even more guilty, when he received a letter from IFTDA (Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association), after Kapoor sent them a letter. Before he agreed to work with Subhash, Aamir met his female colleagues, who spoke highly of him and only when he got satisfied with their responses, did he come back on board.
Meanwhile, Aamir is busy with his next Lal Singh Chaddha and he will start work on Mogul once he completes the Advait Chandan-directed movie.
