Exclusive Interview : "I Said To Milap That It Must Be Strong Role" - Divya Khosla Kumar About 'Satyameva Jayate 2'

John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 will be out in cinemas on Thursday 25th November 2021. John Abraham will be seen in Triple roles while Divya Khosla Kumar plays the female lead. We caught her in an exclusive interaction before the film release and here we have brought some interesting details.

Kicking off with how she got this film, Divya said, "I came from Delhi to Mumbai for bigger opportunities. From 2016 to 2019, I was praying that I would get to play strong roles. I said to Milap that it must be a strong role. When he narrated the script of Satyameva Jayate 2, I thought it was a good role and I said yes. It was opposite John and it's a huge brand as Satyameva Jayate was a big blockbuster and Milap is a very talented director and writer, so that's how I got the role."

As we know T-Series contributes to almost every field in the cinema industry, but did that influence Divya to get an opportunity? She replied, "T-Series wasn't in the picture when Milap narrated the script to me, it was Emmay Entertainment's production. As T-Series do joint production with a lot of production houses, so I, as a woman, am trying to chart out my path separately from what T-Series is doing."Adding about her character in a massy film she said, "I was getting into Milap Zaveri's world. I had to trust him. He told me that Vidya (the character's name) is a politician,  she is very strong. Now when I look at the screen I realise that he has presented me so well, with so much dignity. I just followed the director as an actor."

Divya Khosla Kumar plays a politician in the film and we know Satyameva Jayate 2 is about the fight against corruption. Without revealing much about the plot she told us, "I can't reveal much about the plot. I can just say that I'm happy that I have been given a challenging part. I have never been connected to any politician, so for me it was a challenge to present Vidya differently from what you see me now in real life. I hope that people like my performance in the film and filmmakers judge me solely and offer me more roles outside T-Series."

If you see the promos of Satyameva Jayate 2, you can see Divya's character in action. A female character performing action is a rare thing but the equation seems to be changing nowadays. Agreeing to that, Divya Khosla Kumar says, "Yes, I think it will change. You know some people even asked me that it's a mass action film, what are you doing in it so i would like to say that things are really changing for women in the industry. Even though it is a John's Film, he has still written a good part for me. Back in the days, women were selected only for songs and romance in Bollywood movies but now things have really changed."
