Adivi Sesh on Emraan Hashmi's entry in Goodachari 2:
Adivi Sesh and Emraan Hashmi are set to share screen space in Goodachari 2, aka G2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 spy thriller. Directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, the film has officially gone on floors, and the makers have already created buzz with the announcement of Hashmi joining the cast.
Speaking about casting Emraan, Adivi Sesh told Mid-Day, “I have been a fan of Emraan’s work for years. Emraan Hashmi brings a lived-in intensity. For the world of Goodachari 2, which is darker than the first film, we needed someone who could be part of that space without trying too hard. Emraan fits the bill."
He added, “I remember going to the theatre and being captivated by his screen presence, or dancing to his incredible songs, which became party anthems and continue to be played across. Goodachari 2 is one of those rare instances in life where you get to work with someone you’ve admired. This is a fan living his dream.”
The first Goodachari was a gripping spy thriller that marked a turning point in Telugu cinema’s take on the genre. With Emraan Hashmi now stepping into the universe, expectations have only grown. Known for his intense performances and cult songs, Emraan’s addition promises to bring a new dimension to the sequel’s gritty and shadowy world. With the film now in production, fans eagerly await this collaboration between a fanboy and his idol to unfold on screen. The rest of the cast and release date will be finalised soon.
