Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram handle to share the first look of Emergency. With an official poster, she wrote, "Presenting #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of the most powerful and controversial women in the history of the world. #Emergency shoot begins."

Emergency will see Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role as well as directing the biographical drama. The film is also produced by Kangana (Manikarnika Films) along with co-producer Renu Pitti. Emergency is written by Kangana Ranaut while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ritesh Shah.
