Sanjay Dutt was forced to play second fiddle to young actor Imran Khan in the publicity promos of their latest film, Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap.

The film, which has just released, has been produced by Ashtavinayak Films, who decided to go ahead with the latest sensation Imran at the cost of neglecting Dutt. The director has washed his hands off the entire affair, saying that he has no clue about marketing and it was all upto the producers. But he did admit to the fact that the promos were more Imran centric than Dutt centric. He also admitted that his film would not have got made without Dutt, who he holds to be a very dear friend of his. However, it is strange that Gadhvi did not have anything to say in the publicity of the film, and its marketing strategy. It seems that the producers have decided to cash in on boy wonder, Imran. The buzz around the actor, who made his debut with Jaane Tu? Ya Jaane Na is at an all time high. Much has already been written about his 'negative' role in Kidnap, a departure from his goody, boy next door image. Probably, the producers feel that he is the one who will bring in the audiences. We are sure that it's not personal. It's just a part of the game. Dutt is an old horse and probably knows the rules of the game better than anyone else. The old have to yield to the young and all of that!
