Sara Ali Khan was recently in the capital to attend a popular talk show hosted by renowned journalist Barkha Dutt. In the event Sara was asked about how she keeps herself real in today’s world, owing to the constant pressure of getting scrutinized in social media and by the paparazzis? To which Sara said, “I don’t alter my personality for the cameras, I don’t do it even when I realize that there are cameras on and people are filming me and they are going to watch me somewhere else.” Talking about the same she revealed, “I have grown up being a confident girl and I have realized that more than confidence, it’s just easier being who you truly are; because the reverse is a lot of hard-work. If I put on a persona which I am not all the time & behave like some other person, then that would be a huge stress to always maintain and showcase that girl. Thus I feel its easier to be who I am.” Concluding about the same, she said, “Whenever I am in the gym or talking to my friends, or talking to you, or promoting a movie, of course the tonality of my conversation changes because I am also aware of my surroundings, but I am whom I am; and that doesn’t become a problem.”
Sara talking about social media being so invasive in today’s times for actors said, “I have been an actor for less than an year, so for me I don’t know any better, as this is the world I came into, this is the world I started in, so I don’t have anything to compare it to” adding to this she said, “Even though it can get overwhelming at times, the real truth and the fact is, if all of this stops and given the climate that we are in right now, where social media is a big thing and media attention is a big thing, in such a situation the reverse would have been worse and that could also be a problem.”
Meanwhile on work front, Sara Ali Khan has a busy year ahead, as she will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s next, Love Aaj Kal sequel opposite her rumoured beau, Kartik Aaryan. Post which she has David Dhawan’s Coolie No 1 with Varun Dhawan.
