The Diplomat Box Office:
The Diplomat released with no expectations at the box office, but content lovers were hoping for a brilliant film. The film was definitely underwhelming but not bad. This seems to have helped the film maintain low levels throughout the first week, and the lack of competition in the second week will likely add more numbers to its final total.
EXCLUSIVE: Sikandar trailer event NOT CANCELLED! Salman Khan to launch the trailer at a grand event at this time –
John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb may have a chance of emerging as a success, but a lot depends on the weekdays in the second week and Sikandar's business on Eid. The film has crossed the 20 crore nett mark, which puts it in a much better position than recent releases like Fateh, Emergency, and Deva.

The Diplomat Box Office Collections:
Shivam Nair's political thriller has a chance to beat Varun Dhawan's Baby John's dismal total of 36 crore nett, but the budget makes it safer. Baby John had a budget of over 150 crore, while The Diplomat cost around 40 crore to produce. With the lifetime collection in the vicinity of 35 crore nett, the film may save itself from a "Flop" verdict.
The Diplomat Review: A True Story of Dramatic Proportions Spoiled by Weak Feminism
Frankly speaking, a low-budget film like The Diplomat making over 30 crore nett is still a good thing for Bollywood amid the one-sided craze for big event and action movies. John didn't really focus on city tours or trailer or song launch events because he knew that the film had a niche appeal. Well done, John, but yes, I personally believe that the film should have been better, and then these numbers would have definitely been much higher.
