What a wedding!
Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend filmmaker Japinder Kaur, fondly known as Jap, recently got married to hotelier Harpreet Chadha in Dubai. While for Dubai based entrepreneur it was an event that she was looking forward to for a year, her brother Tarnpreet Singh Baweja, a pioneer in Dubai food industry, made sure that the three day long celebrations were not just held in style but became truly memorable for one and all.
Ring Ceremony at Palazzo Versace hotel
This being a personal favorite of Japinder, the festivities kick-started at this royal property which is known for its opulence and the fact that every branded item comes with impeccable quality and inherent luxury. While guests flew in from across the globe and hobnobbed with the who's who of Dubai, some of the major highlights of the gala event were:
Japinder's evening dress that weighed 30 kgs silk had a five meter trail and required four people permanently just to handle it. With a design inspired by 17th century architecture, it was handmade by the bride's dear friend Fadi, owner of Dar Sara High Fashion in Dubai, who went out of the way to prepare the dress very quickly while working round the clock.
A six feet designer cake was put together by Versace and it had Harjap logo in gold
There were silk performers for the evening and snowfall was created for the couple entry which was followed by a dance
25 liter champagne bottles popped all night
A special attraction was in the form of Sophie Choudry who performed till wee hours of the night
Tarnpreet was very specific about food which was imported from all over the world. It included delicacies like rabbit meat, pigeon, caviar, truffle, deer meat, oysters, lobsters etc. etc.
Mehendi and Sangeet on the Mega Yacht that sailed all around Dubai
Biggest highlight of the afternoon was 350 kg rose petal shower from a helicopter. This was the first time ever that this had happened in Dubai and it took over six months of permissions from DTFC, DCAA, GCA, Marine Line, Environmental safeties, Coastguard, Helicopter Military and Defense. This was a dream of Japinder's mother and the bride was truly appreciative of authroities and government to allow that, especially since the Dubai Air Show was going on at the same time
Festivities continued on the Mega Yacht that had around 300 guests on board
There were Belle as well as Punjabi folk singers who brought a spark to the festivities
Haldi and Chura ceremony were held soon after where Japinder wore an ancestral ivory and gold chura of her mother
Raat Ki Baraat at Versace
Japinder wore a heavily embellished purple and rose gold lehenga that Manish Malhotra custom designed in Dubai
All the jewellery was from Farah Ali Khan and included pure big size rubies of 180 carats in total
Japinder wore a 22k royal gold crown with diamonds and amethysts that made her look like a queen
Japinder's mother too wore a Farah Ali Khan masterpiece that had a 200 carat single emerald piece set in panther diamonds and gold design, a rare stone with a unique size
Harpreet wore Rohit Bal and had a gold embellished Talwar, Maharaja of Patiala necklace and kalgi designed by his mother Annu Chadha, all of which complimented Japinder's look perfectly
There was a royal procession and the couple looked like a King and Queen amidst fireworks
Outdoor Versace views of a Medusa pool and a surreal candle lit party were indeed a dream come true for all the guests
Meet Bros. and Khushboo set the stage on fire by singing many Bollywood hits, including the one's from Japinder's own Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend
17 of Japinder's friends performed to a glamorous 10 minute dance piece on an array of songs
A live glitter painter and fire performers made a black and gold portrait of the couple in less than 10 minutes
Turkish ice cream servers joined in too had a lot of fun with all guests
Food was again flown in from France, Australia, Scotland and many other regions
Laavan at the Jebel Ali Gurudwara
Japinder wore a Coral Faraz Manan sharara and Harpreet wore an ivory shade sherwani by the same designer. This was also customized by Faraz, who is a good friend of Japinder and he made a design specially that is completely exclusive from all his collections till date. This outfit also had a trail and made Japinder every bit a princess that she could be. Her heavy, larger than life Kaleere completed the look.
The couple released doves post their wedding as a sign of love and freedom
The festivities have now turned immortal due to videography by Wedarazzi Films, Mumbai, and photography by The Wedding Salad.
All these festivities were truly in line with the Grand Roka that had taken place earlier this year on 8th January. The event was held at Gold on 27 in Burj Al Arab and saw the presence of guests such as Her Highness Sheikha Hend Al Qassemi, Ajay Kapoor (ex-T-Series director), Vikram and Namrata Shroff from Mumbai, Peter Virdee from London and many more prominent business tycoons.
