Dia Mirza: 'Bobby Jasoos' is not a typical detective story'

Actress-turned-producer Dia Mirza, who will be next producing Bobby Jasoos under her production banner 'Born Free Entertainment', claims that despite the title, the film is not a typical detective story.

 

Elaborating on the point, Dia said, “Whenever we think of a detective story, we have a set image in mind-that of a detective in a hat or smoking a pipe, walking through dark alleys as he goes about solving a case. However, with Bobby Jasoos, there are many things that sets the story apart. First, it is India's first woman detective story. The second unique thing about this film is the milieu it is set in and the third point is that the film is a 'coming of age' story. It is about the aspiration of a woman, who wants to become a detective and how she goes about trying to achieve her dreams.”

 

Bobby Jasoos is set in Hyderabad and will have Vidya Balan play the titular role.
