The box office numbers of Dhurandhar and The RajaSaab have sparked an interesting discussion, especially since the two films were initially scheduled to clash on December 5. Looking at the current scenario, it clearly feels like a lucky escape for the Prabhas-starrer.

Despite being in its sixth weekend, Dhurandhar managed to collect an impressive ₹17 crore nett, comfortably beating The RajaSaab’s Hindi opening weekend of ₹13.5 crore. This comparison alone highlights the massive momentum Dhurandhar continues to enjoy even after more than a month in theatres.

Dhurandhar opened to phenomenal numbers and sustained remarkably well. Its first week stood at ₹196.44 crore, followed by a massive ₹240.83 crore in the second week. Even in the third and fourth weeks, the film remained strong with ₹161.74 crore and ₹100.4 crore respectively. The fifth week added ₹48 crore, taking the film’s total to around ₹765 crore nett, an extraordinary achievement driven by strong word of mouth and repeat audiences. The film’s ensemble cast and scale played a major role in keeping the footfalls steady.

On the other hand, The RajaSaab, starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi, has failed to create the expected buzz in the Hindi belt. Despite Prabhas’ star power, the film opened on a muted note and is now expected to end its lifetime run at just ₹20–22 crore nett in Hindi, which is far below expectations for a film of this scale.

Had the clash happened as planned, The RajaSaab would have faced an uphill battle against the unstoppable run of Dhurandhar. In hindsight, the postponement seems to have saved it from an even tougher box office outcome.
