Sanjay Gadhvi, a Bollywood director who rose to fame with Dhoom and Dhoom 2 in the 2000s, passed away this morning. We, at Movie Talkies, pray for his soul to rest in peace.
The director collapsed in his building's lobby in Lokhandwala. He was then taken to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, where he took his last breath. The details of his funeral are still awaited.
Sanjay Gadhvi began his career in Bollywood in 2001 with Tere Liye. The next year, he directed Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002), which also couldn't do well. He had his first hit in 2004 with Dhoom, and the film became a nationwide sensation and gave recognition to Gadhvi.
YRF trusted him again for Dhoom 2 (2006), which went on to become a huge blockbuster. Gadhavi then directed Kidnap, Ajab Gazab Love, and Operation Parindey, but couldn't find any success.
