Deepika Padukone: 'I was nervous about playing Veronica in 'Cocktail'

Actress Deepika Padukone has wowed everyone in the trailers of upcoming movie Cocktail, where she plays the role of a modern, rebellious and confident girl named Veronica and though Padukone seems to have done justice to the role, the actress claims that she was indeed unsure about whether she could pull it off.

In a recent interview, when asked about choosing to play Veronica, the pretty Padukone was quoted saying, "While I felt that Veronica was a lot more exciting and challenging to play as a character, I was also nervous about whether I would be able to pull it off. But it was Imtiaz Ali, the writer of our film, who suggested I play the role."

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail is a film about three people and their relationships with each other. Apart from Deepika, the film also stars Saif Ali Khan as Gautam and Diana Penty as Meera.
