For debutant Deeksha Seth, it couldn't have been a better start than Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. Considering the fact that the makers of Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail have time and again ensured that leading ladies in their films (Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty, Giselli Monteiro) have a substantial role to play in their romcom, Deeksha is glad that she is kick-starting her career with a romcom which comes from the house of Illuminati and Eros.
"I loved the kind of films that they make and the kind of characterization they ensure," says Deeksha who spent close to a year and a half while being associated with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, "They back just the right scripts. If they like something and believe in it, they go all out for it."
Though the Arif Ali directed film may come across as yet another romcom, Deeksha hints that there is a lot more to the film, which also marks the launch of Armaan Jain, than what meets the eye.
"If they make a beautiful film like Love Aaj Kal, they don't play safe or conventional soon after. They follow it up with a Cocktail which is fun and commercial, in a similar space and yet very different. Let's also not forget that they even made an experimental film like Go Goa Gone, which was fun again. Now with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, they have tried something different again. One factor which is consistent with them is the classiness quotient they bring to each of their films. This is what makes our film further special."
We would like to see all of that and more in action once the film hits the screens this Friday.
