'Das Boot', 'Air Force One' & 'Troy' Director Wolfgang Petersen Passed Away At 81

publive-imageGerman filmmaker Wolfgang Petersen passed away at the age of 81 on August 12, 2022. The director died of pancreatic cancer at his home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, United States. His production company member confirmed the news today.publive-imageWolfgang Peterson rose to prominence with the German World War II classic Das Boot (1981), which was based on officers' experiences on the German submarine U-96. The film won him plenty of nominations and critical acclaim. He then made his first English-language film, The NeverEnding Story (1984).publive-imageIn The Line of Fire (1993) gave him the much-needed box office boost he needed to make another suspense thriller, Outbreak (1995). Peterson's collaboration with Harrison Ford was highly successful with the blockbuster business of Air Force One (1997).
