‘Dangal’ Bags Best Asian Film Award At Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts Awards!

Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which is based on the lives of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita, has another feather to add to its cap now, we hear.

After breaking box-office records at Bollywood and earning accolades in China with a collection of 23.45 million Hong Kong dollars, Dangal has been named the Best Asian Film at the 7th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, a member of the Grand Jury for Best Asian Film, tweeted yesterday, "'Dangal' wins Best Asian Film at AACTA. Congratulations Team Dangal." The jury was chaired by Hollywood star Russell Crowe, known for his roles in films such as Gladiator and Body of Lies.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal stars Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar and Aparshakti Khurrana.
