Crown Prince Is Now 'Nawab' Saif Ali Khan

After the recent demise of the ninth Nawab of Pataudi, Mansoor Ali Khan, his successor Saif Ali Khan was today anointed as the tenth Nawab at his ancestral palace.

Saif was earlier reluctant to take over the title, which is no longer recognised by the Indian government, but finally gave in to respect the sentiments of the villagers. Heads of fifty two villages attended the ceremony and tied a white turban around Khan's head. Saif's mother Sharmila Tagore, sisters Saba and Soha Ali Khan also graced the pagdi ceremony along with, Haryana's Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Now crowned Nawab, Saif Ali Khan will have to look after all the charitable institutes managed by the erstwhile princely state.

However, Saif's girlfriend Kareena Kapoor missed the coronation ceremony, as she is presently in London shooting for Reema Kagti's Dhuan.
