Coolie Was a Mistake - Aamir Khan's viral interview:
A newspaper cutout featuring Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has gone viral on social media. The image claims that Aamir called his cameo in Rajinikanth’s Coolie a “big mistake” and described the scene as “badly written.” The fabricated interview further suggests that Aamir admitted he had no purpose in the film and regretted his appearance.
While it is true that Aamir Khan made a cameo in Coolie, the viral cutout itself is fake. Aamir has never given any interview calling the film or his appearance a mistake. The so-called “quotes” are completely fabricated and do not come from him.

Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, stars superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. The film, mounted on a massive scale, generated huge anticipation across India before its release. Along with Rajinikanth’s powerhouse presence, the movie also featured several impactful supporting roles and marked Aamir Khan’s surprise cameo in the ending sequence.

However, while fans were excited about Aamir’s appearance, his cameo didn’t receive the response many expected. Critics and audiences felt the scene was underwhelming, especially when compared to the larger-than-life build-up throughout the film. Despite that, Aamir never publicly spoke against the movie or his role in it.
At the box office, Coolie performed decently thanks to Rajinikanth’s star power and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s signature storytelling style. The movie solidified Rajinikanth’s position as the ultimate crowd-puller, continuing the momentum from Jailer (2023). The film had a potential to become the highest grossing film in Kollywood, but underperformed with final gross if around 502 crore.
In short: Aamir Khan’s cameo in Coolie was real, but the viral newspaper clipping claiming he called it a “mistake” is completely fake. Fans should treat it as internet misinformation and not fall for such fabricated content. There is no authentic source of that interview and it should not be taken seriously.
