While Shraddha Kapoor was earlier supposed to play the lead role of ace Indian badminton player, Saina Nehwal in her biopic, she has now been replaced with Parineeti Chopra.
The makers announced the news yesterday and producer Bhushan Kumar confirmed the reports, writing, “Delighted to welcome @ParineetiChopra on board for the Saina Nehwal biopic!” Pari also thanked Bhushan for giving her the opportunity to play the iconic role and wrote, “Truly, truly grateful!!! Thankyouu.”
While the makers have not revealed why Shraddha quit the project, we hear that she opted out she is flooded with work. Shraddha trained extensively for the role and had started shooting for the biopic in September but was diagnosed with dengue two days after she began filming. She was supposed to continue from April however, she walked out of the Amol Gupte-directed movie as she has no dates. Reportedly, the decision of replacing her was taken by mutual consent.
Meanwhile, Shraddha is in London shooting for Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer, in which she will be seen opposite Varun Dhawan and Pari is looking forward to the release of Kesari, in which she will be seen romancing Akshay Kumar.
