Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had marked his directorial debut with Salman Khan starrer Kick. However, rumour mills were recently rife with reports that Nadiadwala won’t be wielding the megaphone for the second instalment.
Buzz had it that Rohit Shetty would be helming Kick 2 however, Sajid’s production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has denied the rumours and has confirmed that Sajid would be directing the second edition as well.
“Clearing the air, we strongly deny any reports of association of any other name as the director of Kick 2. The next of the franchise, Kick 2 is with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and will be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala,” Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment wrote in a statement.
Sajid had announced the sequel to his 2014 release in 2018 and we hear that the film will go on floors in April 2020 after Salman completes the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah. The film will star Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead, who had also starred in the original. We hear that the sequel’s story will not be a continuation of the first movie.
