Fardeen Khan can now heave a huge sigh of relief, as the Mumbai sessions court has dropped all charges framed against him, in the much talked about cocaine case.
Khan, who was booked for buying cocaine from a drug dealer in Mumbai, has been acquitted from a jail term by the sessions court on condition, that he will undergo a detoxification process.
Fardeen was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in 2001 for possessing cocaine. However, the actor’s application under Section 64 (A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was accepted by the court and has been granted immunity from prosecution.
"This is a big decision for me. I am grateful to the judge for accepting my application. I will share this happy moment with my family," Khan was quoted to have said.
However, the court has also declared that if in future he is arrested for the same offence, then immunity against him shall be withdrawn.
