A tragic incident marred the opening day of megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-anticipated film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu when a fan reportedly died during a screening at a cinema hall in Hyderabad.

The incident occurred at Arjun Theatre in Kukatpally during the Monday morning show. The deceased has been identified as Anand Kumar, a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the 12th Battalion, who had come to watch the film’s 11:30 am screening.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary reports, Kumar suddenly collapsed in his seat midway through the screening, causing alarm among fellow audience members. Theatre staff immediately called for medical assistance, and he was rushed to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police officials suspect that a cardiac arrest was the cause of death, though they added that the exact reason will be confirmed only after a post-mortem examination. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
