Chirag Patil is essaying the role of his father Sandeep Patil, who was a middle order batsman, in Kabir Khan’s upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 and his look from the movie was unveiled today.

Chirag’s character was introduced with a solo poster and he is seen striking with his bat in it. Chirag, who has worked in several Marathi and Hindi films, is a mirror image of his father in the poster. Talking about playing his father, Chirag had earlier said, “I’m really excited, the ’83 World Cup win is considered a milestone in Indian history and to be a part of that team is a dream come true and playing my father who’s my hero is just awesome. I don’t think any actor has ever played his father on screen, I’m a first. He further added that ever since his mother heard that a film is being made on India’s 1983 World Cup victory, it’s been her dream to see him play his father. Luckily, I landed the part.”

'83  also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Deepika Padukone, Saqib Saleem,  Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, Boman Irani and Sahil Khattar among others. The film is slated to release on April 10, 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
